Preview of our new album Electric Monkey Sessions 2
Remembering the vibe of our Electric Monkey Sessions recordings in 2014 we just had to go back to that same place and it’s owner, engineer Kasper Frenkel.
Again, the eight of us, all in the same room, bouncing off each other, while Kasper captures the moment, adding a bit of extra flavour with his Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry style dub set-up. Old school recording, a couple of takes for each song, some even straight to tape, no overdubs (well, hardly any…).
Here is Machu Picchu as a preview of the upcoming album Electric Monkey Sessions 2, which will be released on the 24th of November. The song is now available on all digital platforms.
The recordings took place in the purest form: with all our band members in one room, only a couple of microphones, a couple of takes, directly recorded on tape. The analog space dubs from the owner/engineer Kasper Frenkel complete the vintage atmosphere. The result is a very versatile album with a stubborn psychedelic cumbia vibe.
Next year we will celebrate our 25-year anniversary, but before that, this nineteenth album will be released. The album can be pre-ordered both digital and physical, on cd and vinyl.
We’re excited! We’re proud of this album and anxious to play the tracks live. Our album tour starts on the 29th of November in Paradiso Noord and continues through the country.
